![]() The play, Equus is a Peter Shaffer's classic. Originally staged at the National Theater in 1973, it was transferred to West End and Broadway where it won the Tony Award for Best Play in 1975. Equus was eventually made into a film starring Richard Burton two years after. Radcliffe's role in the play's revival does not only require him to bare it all, but also to perform a steamy sex scene with onstage girlfriend, Joana Christie. In an interview with contactmusic.com, Radcliffe defended his naked stage scenes. "I'm fine about it. 'Equus' is an iconic play and the nude scene is part of it. I can't do it with my pants on ... that would be rubbish. We've done the scene a couple of times in rehearsal. I had no particular qualms. There's nothing that would stop me getting my kit off if that's what the work demands." Oo nga naman. The key to good acting is to lose all your inhibitions, he said so himself. Way to go Potty!
